CONCEPT AIRSHIP DESIGN
VISION
To create a mystical vehicle of gigantic scale that reimagines what an AIRSHIP would look like in the world of INDUS.
CONCEPTUAL INSPIRATION
The primary inspiration for this airship is the Pushpak Vimana- a flying craft as mentioned in the Hindu text Vaimānika Shāstra
PUSHPAK VIMANA
THAT POSESSES THE BEAUTY OF A FLOWER
MYTHICAL FLYING VEHICLE OF LORD VISHNU
How would a balloon airship look in the world of INDUS?
FUNCTIONAL AND FORMAL INSPIRATION
Nastic movement of the lotus flower:
The daily opening and closing of the flower
THOUGHT PROCESS
Utilizing the tendency of gases to occupy any given space, the shape of the balloon was reimagined in an exoskeleton-like structure.
The central chamber acts as the passenger hub
The vehicle's wings are LTA gas tubules which open and close based on the requirement of lift and navigation
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
TO ENSURE ENERGY EFFICIENCY:
AERODYNAMIC SHAPE
PROPULTION/LIFT: LIGHTER THAN AIR GASES NAVIGATION USING WIND CURRENTS
SAIL-LIKE WINGS
The airship is lifted due to LTA gases and rotates slowly
The wings are voluminous structures with smaller air
balloon pockets, that are made of smart fabric
(memory cloth). The turgidity of which can be controlled by electric impulse.
The LTA gas flow is controlled based on how much propulsion is required.
WING WRAP VARIATIONS
LANDING DOCKS
The Airship takes off and lands into docs which allow them to
refuel, and exchange passengers and goods.
INSPIRATION
The formal and functional inspiration for the landing docks was taken from the Sudarshan Chakra.
The Sudarshan Chakra is the only weapon that is in constant motion.
FORM DEVELOPMENT
TECHNICAL ASPECT
TOP FLOOR: COCKPIT
FIRST 5 FLOORS FOR TOP RANKERS
PRIMARY DRIVE WING
SECONDARY SENSORY WING
The Vishvayaan is the biggest vehicle of INDUS with a 100-120 people capacity. It is a slow moving vehicle and is also capable of interstellar travel.

COSMIUM REACTOR
In 90% use case, of the airship, it is a vertically standing slow moving vehicle, used like a caravan between the floating islands of INDUS. When required, the ship is capable of intergalactic travel by changing it's axis-closing the wings, using cosmium reactor as the power source
